These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of mbabarbers.ng, the M.B.A directory, gift hair-cut vouchers, the member savings program and the M.B.A store, operated by the Multi Barbers Association of Nigeria (“M.B.A”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, buying a voucher, opening a money box or placing an order, you agree to them.
1. Acceptance of these terms
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract under Nigerian law to use our services. If you are acting for a business — a salon, a barbing shop or an academy — you confirm that you have authority to bind that business.
By ticking the acceptance box on registration, placing an order, purchasing a voucher or making a contribution to the money box, you accept these Terms in full together with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement. If you do not accept, do not use the platform.
Where a service has its own supplementary rules (for example the savings plan terms shown at the point you open a box), those rules apply in addition to these Terms. If they conflict, the supplementary rules prevail for that service only.

3. Membership accounts
3.1 Application and approval
Membership is not automatic. You must submit a complete application, a valid government-issued ID, a photograph and either a shop address or a documented home-service route. We may refuse an application where information is missing, inconsistent or where a chapter raises a substantiated objection. Standard approval time is ten working days.
3.2 Accuracy of information
You must keep your name, phone number, email address, bank account details and trade information accurate and current. Providing false information — including another person's ID, a shop you do not operate from, or fabricated trade photographs — voids your membership, cancels any voucher settlements owed and may be reported to your chapter.
3.3 Fees and renewal
Membership fees are annual: ₦6,000 (Apprentice), ₦12,500 (Barber), ₦30,000 (Shop Owner) and ₦75,000 (Corporate), as published on the membership page. Fees run for 12 months from the date your M.B.A number is issued. Renewal falls on that anniversary, with a 30-day grace period before your directory listing is paused. Fees paid more than 14 days ago are non-refundable except where we terminate your membership without cause.
3.4 Your credentials
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials and OTP codes confidential. Activity carried out through your account is treated as activity by you. Tell us immediately on 0803 000 1234 if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
4. Directory conduct
The Directory exists so customers can trust what they see. Listings must be truthful about location, prices, opening hours, specialities and standing. You must not:
- impersonate another barber, another shop or an M.B.A officer;
- display photographs of work you did not perform, or filter them in a way that misrepresents the result;
- quote one price in your listing and charge a materially different price without telling the customer first;
- contact customers obtained through the Directory for unsolicited marketing outside the booking they made;
- offer, accept or request payment to alter, remove or suppress a review;
- use the badge or the M.B.A number of another member, or display a suspended number.
Reviews may only be submitted by customers with a matching booking or redeemed voucher code. We may remove reviews that contain abuse, personal information or unrelated content, but we do not remove reviews because they are unfavourable.
5. Gift voucher terms
5.1 Issuance
Vouchers are issued in denominations of ₦5,000, ₦10,000 and ₦20,000 and delivered by email or WhatsApp to the details given at checkout. A voucher is created when payment is confirmed by our payment provider; until then no code exists. Please check the recipient's number carefully — we re-send codes free of charge within support hours, but we cannot redirect a code that was delivered correctly to the number you supplied.
5.2 Validity
Each voucher is valid for six months from the date of issue, with the expiry date shown on the voucher and in your account. We send reminders at 30 days and 7 days before expiry. One extension of 60 days may be granted if requested before the expiry date. A voucher may be used in part; the remaining balance stays on the same code until expiry.
5.3 Redemption
Vouchers are redeemed against the M.B.A network, not a single shop, at any participating barber displaying the M.B.A badge. The barber enters the code in their dashboard at the time of service and the value is deducted immediately. A voucher has no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash by the customer, and cannot be transferred for value (including resale). Where the service costs more than the balance, you pay the difference to the barber directly.
5.4 Refunds
Unused vouchers may be refunded in full within 30 days of purchase to the original payment method, processed within five working days. After 30 days a voucher is not refundable but may be extended once. Partially redeemed vouchers are not refundable for the value already spent. If a barber refuses to honour a valid code, contact us the same day — we will settle it with the barber or refund you in full.
5.5 Barber settlement
Redeemed values are batched and paid out every Friday before 16:00 WAT to the barber's registered bank account (Wednesday for Shop Owner tier). Redemptions made after Thursday 23:59 roll into the following week's run. Every payout carries a reference that can be matched in the barber's dashboard.
6. Savings program terms
The M.B.A money box is a member savings facility, not a bank account, and balances are not deposits with a bank or with M.B.A. Contributions are held in a segregated trust account with a licensed partner institution, separate from our operating funds.
- Cadence. You choose daily, weekly or monthly contributions and a debit date. Minimums are ₦500 daily, ₦2,500 weekly or ₦10,000 monthly.
- Plans. Flexible plans allow withdrawal at any time. Locked plans restrict withdrawal until the target maturity date and qualify for a 6% per annum bonus paid on completion, calculated on the average balance held across the term.
- Withdrawals. Requests are paid to the bank account registered in the same name as your membership record, within two working days for flexible plans.
- Missed contributions. A failed debit is retried after 48 hours. Two consecutive misses pause your streak and bonus eligibility for that cycle but never reduce your balance.
- Records. Every contribution and withdrawal is stamped with date, time, channel and reference, and a statement is available in your dashboard at any time.
- Emergency fund. Member soft loans start at ₦50,000 at 2% flat over six months, decided by your chapter and capped at 40% of your 12-month savings.
The 6% bonus is funded by the association from store and membership surplus, not by lending your balance. It is not guaranteed on flexible plans and is forfeited if a locked plan is broken early.
7. Store orders & delivery
7.1 Orders and acceptance
An order is an offer to buy. The contract forms when we send a dispatch confirmation, not at checkout. We may decline or cancel an order where an item is out of stock, where the price is clearly a typing error, where the delivery address falls outside our courier network, or where a fraud check is not cleared — and we will refund you in full in each case.
7.2 Pricing and trade discount
Prices are shown in Naira and include VAT where applicable. Member trade discounts are applied at cart once you sign in with paid-up membership and are not available on already-reduced items. We may change prices at any time; the price at checkout is the price you pay.
7.3 Delivery
Delivery takes 2–5 working days to all 36 states and the FCT, with next-day delivery in Lagos for orders placed before 14:00. Pay-on-delivery is available only in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Ibadan. Risk passes to you on delivery to the address you gave, or to a person you authorised to receive it.
7.4 Returns
Faulty goods may be returned free of charge within 14 days of delivery; we arrange collection and offer a replacement or full refund including delivery. Unopened consumables may be returned within 7 days. Sealed blades and other hygiene items cannot be returned once opened. Nothing in this section limits your rights under consumer protection law.
8. Payments
All payments on the platform — membership fees, vouchers, store orders and savings contributions — are processed by licensed payment providers including Paystack. We never see or store your full card number, CVV or PIN.
- Accepted methods: debit and credit cards, bank transfer, USSD and supported wallets, in Naira only.
- A debit without an order or voucher reference normally reverses within 24 hours. If it does not, contact store@mbabarbers.ng with the amount, time and your bank reference and we will reconcile within one working day.
- Barber payouts, savings withdrawals and refunds are made only to a bank account held in the same name as the membership record. We cannot pay to a third party's account.
- Where a chargeback or reversal is raised after a service has been delivered or an order received, we reserve the right to recover the amount and to suspend the account pending resolution.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the platform. In particular you must not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, database or system on or connected to mbabarbers.ng;
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the platform, or circumvent authentication or rate limits;
- introduce malware, scrapers or automated scripts that place unreasonable load on the service;
- harvest member, customer or barber contact details for use outside the platform;
- upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, discriminatory or that infringes another person's rights;
- use the M.B.A name, badge or directory content to advertise a competing directory or recruitment service;
- transfer, sell or trade your M.B.A number, account or voucher codes for value.
We may report unlawful conduct to the Nigeria Police Force and to the relevant state licensing authority, and we will cooperate with lawful requests from courts and regulators.
10. Suspension & termination
10.1 By you
You may close your account at any time from Settings → Account, provided any savings balance has been withdrawn and outstanding vouchers have settled. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund of a fee paid more than 14 days earlier.
10.2 By us
We may suspend your account or listing immediately where there is a risk of harm — suspected fraud, an unresolved chargeback, a substantiated hygiene or conduct complaint, or misuse of another member's credentials. For anything else we will give you written reasons and at least 14 days' notice to remedy the issue.
10.3 Appeals
You may appeal a suspension or termination in writing to legal@mbabarbers.ng within 14 days. Appeals are heard by the national council, not by the officers who made the original decision, and you will receive the outcome in writing.
11. Liability
We provide the platform with reasonable care and skill. We do not guarantee that every listing will be available, that every barber will be available at a given time, or that savings targets will be reached.
- We are not responsible for the quality of a haircut, the conduct of a member beyond our published standards, or for arrangements made off the platform.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of goodwill arising from your use of the platform.
- Where we are liable, our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the fees you paid to us in that period or ₦250,000.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Nigerian law.
Savings balances held in the trust account remain yours at all times and are returned to you in accordance with your plan, independent of any claim we may have against you.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including the Consumer Protection Act, the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the NDPR as applied by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
The courts of Lagos State have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms, save that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. Before commencing proceedings, both parties agree to attempt resolution through our complaints process, and then through mediation arranged by the association, within 30 days.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the platform, our services, fees or the law. The current version and its effective date are always shown at the top of this page. Material changes — anything affecting fees, refunds, your money or your rights — will be notified by email and by a notice in your dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect.
If you continue to use the platform after the effective date, you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, you must close your account before that date, and we will settle any balance owed to you.
