Where the money sits, and what happens if a week goes missing
The money box runs on four promises. They are written into the chapter constitution, not just this landing page.
Held in chapter escrow
Contributions sit in a separate account signed by two chapter officers. It is never used for rent, events or advances — only for member payouts.
A missed week is a pause, not a penalty
Skip a week and the streak resets, but the balance stays put. Three consecutive misses move the box to paused status until you top up again.
Exit with 7 days' notice
Close the box any time before maturity. The full balance is returned within 7 working days, minus any unearned maturity bonus — never your own deposits.
The escrow account is held at a commercial bank with two signatories drawn from the current chapter executive. When officers change, the mandate is updated at the next general meeting and recorded with the state secretariat. Members can request a statement of the escrow balance on any meeting day.
No. This is not a bank account and pays no interest — the money box is a discipline tool with a payout at maturity. The only extra you receive is the maturity bonus on Regular, Pro and Chapter bands, paid by the chapter from its own operating fund.
Yes, once a month from your dashboard, or any time your band changes at review. Moving from ₦5,000 to ₦10,000 recalculates your target date immediately; moving down keeps the date and simply stretches it.
Two withdrawals per calendar quarter, any amount up to 25% of your balance, processed within 24 hours. After that, extra withdrawals in the same quarter cost ₦500 each and are still paid to your registered account only.
You get a maturity notice in your dashboard and on WhatsApp. Confirm within 7 days and the balance plus any bonus is transferred in one payment, usually the same working day. Confirm nothing and the box rolls into the next cycle with your streak intact.
Not a savings scheme, not a lender
The money box never asks for your BVN, PIN or card details outside your own bank app, and no M.B.A officer will ever call you to "release" funds. Report anything else to your chapter secretary.
What a finished box looks like
I opened mine for clippers. ₦5,000 every Monday for 24 weeks, and on the 25th the money landed. I did not borrow a kobo and I did not stop cutting.
Shop rent used to scare me every January. Now the chapter pays it from my Chapter band in one transfer, and I start the year owing nobody.
I paused twice while my wife was in hospital and nobody called to chase me. I picked the streak back up and finished ₦150,000 for her bills.
