Have these ready and your application clears the document check on the first pass. Anything missing is the single biggest cause of delay.

What it costs to apply
No hidden charges, no agent fees
M.B.A fees are paid only through this site. Report any officer or agent demanding a "facilitation fee" to integrity@mbabarbers.ng.
Ten working days from submission to go-live for most applicants. You will get an SMS and an email at every stage.
Fill the form below with your trade name, shop address, state, speciality and a government ID. Takes about ten minutes.
Same dayThe national desk matches your ID against your photograph and confirms your bank details. You are notified if anything needs re-uploading.
48 hoursA chapter officer visits your shop, or you upload a one-take skills video — a line-up, a fade and a clean-up, filmed end to end.
3–5 daysYour state chapter chair and verification officer sign off standing, hygiene and conduct. Any upheld objection stops the application.
2 daysPay your annual fee, receive your M.B.A number and digital ID card, and your directory listing goes live the same hour.
InstantA short confirmation of your ID, shop address and insurance. Suspension only follows upheld hygiene or conduct complaints — and every case has a right of appeal to the council.
Straight answers. If yours is not here, the national desk replies on WhatsApp between 8:00 and 20:00 WAT, Monday to Saturday.
Yes, under the home-service route. You need a documented route (your operating area and the days you work), two trade photographs and a government ID. Your listing will be marked "Home service" and customers can filter for it — you simply cannot show a shop address you do not have.
Ten working days is the standard, and about 80% of applications clear inside that window. The slowest stage is the trade review, because a chapter officer has to reach your shop. If you upload a one-take skills video instead, most applicants go live in four to six days.
No. M.B.A does not employ members and does not take a cut of your walk-in trade. You keep your shop, your prices and your customers. Membership is a credential — your number travels with you if you move state or change shop.
You get a written reason within two working days — usually a missing document or an unresolved ID mismatch, both fixable. Reapply at no cost within 90 days. If you disagree with a refusal on conduct grounds, you may appeal to the national council in writing within 14 days.
Yes — two instalments 60 days apart on the Barber and Shop Owner tiers (₦6,500 + ₦6,500, or ₦15,000 + ₦15,000). Your listing stays live while the second instalment is pending; it is only paused if the second payment is more than 30 days late.
Within 14 days of payment, yes — provided you have not redeemed a voucher or taken a store trade discount, in which case the value of those benefits is deducted. After 14 days the fee is non-refundable but your tier can be downgraded at renewal.
Ten minutes now, ten working days to your M.B.A number. We will send a confirmation SMS and email the moment your file reaches the national desk.
